Executive Sales Manager - Power Plant Solutions

Newly created position for the expanding utilities market in Australia.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Establishes , develops and leads the Australian Sales division within the Power Plant Solutions (PPS) business unit of SMA with a primary focus on inverters for grid-connected solar systems (i.e. high power solutions such as Sunny Central and Sunny Tripower)
  • Works to integrate the needs of the Australian market into the SMA corporate strategy in close cooperation with Sales, Product Management, Production and Marketing
  • Reports to the General Manager of SMA Australia
  • Maintains and expands business with existing key accounts and acquires new partners and direct customers
  • Prioritizes markets and determines market entry strategies for new regions
  • Sets ambitious targets and devises concrete plans to achieve on international and national levels
  • Attends trade shows and conferences
  • Acts as consultant to sales partners in the region

 

  • Help prepare commercial tenders, quote preparation on major projects

 

 

  • Sales and financial reporting within the P&L group of SMA Australia

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Requires
  • Culturally competent leadership ability with several years of professional experience and demonstrated sales success in an international technology company
  • Solid understanding of sales processes and technical maintenance support contracts
  • Ability to advance the division with proactive entrepreneurial commitment and strategic orientation

  • Represents a combination of a customer-oriented sales professional and an engineer who has several years of working experience in the direct and indirect selling, mainly with key accounts and large scale project partners of sophisticated technical products, ideally in an internationally-oriented company
  • Has excellent communication skills and sound technical knowledge, coupled with a dynamic approach to sales
  • Excellent English language skills, another foreign language helpful
  • Willing to attend training seminars in Germany or overseas as required
  • Success-oriented, flexible and a team player
  • Past experience in sales involving local clients is an advantage, possibly as consulting engineer
