System monitoring at a glance

Informative, compact and easy to operate: the Sunny Beam with Bluetooth looks good and is packed with innovative monitoring technology. The large graphic display shows you all the essential data at a glance: daily profile, current output, daily and overall energy yield. But there's more to the Sunny Beam than meets the eye: at the flick of a switch you can retrieve the performance data of up to 12 inverters, a monthly summary, the energy yield in euros or dollars or the saved quantity of CO₂. The data from a minimum of 100 days' performance is stored within the device and can be uploaded to a PC via USB interface – no additional software is required. And in case of plant disruption, the Sunny Beam can be programmed to emit an audio signal.

To use the Sunny Beam with Bluetooth, you need an inverter with integrated Bluetooth® Wireless Technology or an inverter with installed SMA Bluetooth Piggy-Back.
Please note: Inverters with integrated Bluetooth Wireless Technology (e.g. Sunny Boy 3000/4000/5000TL) require firmware version 2.0 or higher. You can download the latest firmware update here.

 Version 01.07.06.R (June 2010)

• Additional Month Files
  Up to 12 Monthly files are additionally generated which contain the energy yields for up to 31 days of the respective month.
  As a result of the additional files plants with 12 inverters can only store up to 90 daily files instead of 100 daily files.
  
  
• Changed Contents of the CSV Daily Files
  Until now E-Total was stored in the daily file with an interval of 10 minutes.
  Starting with this version the values for the power is stored with an interval of 10 minutes and the respective value for the end of the day of E-Today and E-Total is stored.
  The changed content applies only after the update, it does not alter any data that was generated before the update.
  
  
• Improved Energy Management
  The energy consumption of the Sunny Beam itself was optimized.
  
  
• Bluetooth Communication during USB Operation
  Bluetooth communication to the plant is now also possible when the Sunny Beam is connected to the computer.
  
  
• International
  The menu language Greek was added.
  
  
• Menu Entry "Live Query for" was removed
  When the graphic "Power Today" is open, the Sunny Beam will perform a "live" query of the current power and the total energy (E-Total). The normal data retrieval continues as usual. This query is called "Live query". In previous versions, the menu "Settings / Data query / Live query for" could be used in order to set the duration of this query to up to 1 minute. Within this minute, a maximum of 5 values for the current power and the total energy yield could be queried, though generally this number was lower.
  The setting "Live Query for" was removed from version 01.07.06.R in order to simplify the menu structure and optimize energy consumption. However, the live query itself is still available. The only difference is that the duration of the query can no longer be adjusted. A Live Query still takes place during display of the "Energy Today" graphic. However, only a current value for the power and the total energy is queried.
  If you require longer Live Queries, we recommend that you operate the Sunny Beam using the USB mains socket adapter. The USB mains socket adapter is available as an optional extra.
• Removal of the following bugs:
  • Adjusting / deleting of daylight saving is now implemented and saved correctly.
  • With the previous version 1.6.3R it could occur that no CSV daily file is created on certain days. This is removed with the new version.
  • In the timezone for Australia the power curve in the display of "Power Today" was only shown as interpolated area. This is removed with the new version.
  • In the previous version 1.6.3R some events (faults, warnings) were still shown in the Sunny Beam in the total plant overview and in the inverter view even when the event was not present in the inverter anymore. The acoustic signal also continued to indicate the event. This is removed with the new version.
    
    

Attention:
Downgrading from 01.07.06.R to version 1.6.3R is not possible!
When updating from version 1.61R to version 01.07.06.R, strictly follow the steps described in the Readme.
When updating from version 1.63R no data is lost.
