Solar Park Waldpolenz
Maximum reliability with SUNNY CENTRAL 500HE
The “Waldpolenz” solar park is being built near Brandis, in the vicinity of Leipzig. The solar power plant is located on a former military airfield. It consists of an area of 110 hectares, equivalent to about 200 soccer fields. The rated power will be 40 megawatt peak (MWp). For this cutting-edge project, SMA supplied a total of 72 Sunny Central 500HE inverters, each with an AC output power of 500 kilowatts (kW). Costs will be significantly reduced by installing the inverters in the immediate vicinity of the modules.
The solar power plant is also equipped with state-of-the-art SMA communication technology, which not only monitors for smooth system operation, but also enables visualization of the data. Power plant management and inverter technology are thus provided by one source, and complement each other perfectly.
