To date, numerous large-scale power plant projects have been planned and implemented across Spain. Almaraz is one such project. With a nominal power of approximately 22.1 MWp, Almaraz is still one of the largest power plants in Spain today. Connected to the grid in 2008, the PV plant is able to supply several thousand households with solar power.
PROINSO, a subsidiary of the Spanish OPDE Group, was responsible for the planning and design of the PV plant. The company specializes in the development of medium to large-scale PV farms across the globe. A total output of approximately 315 MW is testament to their experience and know-how. Almaraz is the most powerful PV farm that the Group has implemented to date.
»During the planning and design of the PV plant in Almaraz, we quickly learned to value the direct connection we have to our contacts at SMA. This not only gave us access to the experience SMA has gained handling numerous international projects, but also ensured fast response times. We did not experience any long waiting times at all. In virtually every case, SMA's team was able to find the ideal solution for our requirements. Especially where completing such a large-scale project to a strict deadline was concerned, their responsiveness provided an added level of security. For these reasons, we will definitely call on SMA for future projects, be they in Yolo, California or the Italian region of Piedmont.«
