Universal Studios Sentosa

Flexible system design with SUNNY MINI CENTRAL 7000HV

One can see that recreation and mitigation of global warming are compatible at the Universal Studio Singapore on Sentosa Island. The Resorts World Sentosa is operating a PV-system in the theme park since October 2009 with a capacity of 500 kilowatts peak. The system covers the surface of a 3,200 square meter metal roof. The operator can count on harvesting 600 MWh per year, the solar power will thus help reduce CO2 emissions by 300 tons per year.

SMA inverter technology helped to reduce the installation work. All in all the construction time was less than three months. The high input voltage of the Sunny Mini Central 7000HV allows the installer to use strings consisting of a large number of modules. This saves time as well as it reduces cabling work and costs.

The PV-system is an addition to the 7 themed zones within the Universal Studios Singapore. Actually it is attraction number 8 – it makes the park a sustainable as well as an impressive place to visit.
