"With Sunny Design, the world's leading inverter manufacturer SMA sets the bar high," praised the renowned trade magazine Photon Profi in its October 2012 edition. Photon has commended both the graphical presentation and the design. The program calculates the perfect plant configuration using the most relevant information. SMA has made the improved version 3.0 of the design software available for online use in all current web browsers and mobile devices, the ideal solution for tablet PCs and Apple products. Plant Design Almost Anywhere "Using the online version, the user can forgo a program installation. Plant design can be accomplished almost anywhere – as long as there is an Internet connection," explains Dr. Thomas Straub, Technical Product Manager at SMA. Another advantage is that downloads and updates are no longer required, users always have the latest version of the software. Expanded Features and Simplified User Navigation "Of course, we also improved the user-friendliness of our design software and simplified data entry. The software also recognises the hardware used and automatically adapts the format of the user interface. SMA has also added some new content features. Sunny Design Web factors in energy storage systems like SMA's Sunny Backup when creating self-consumption projections. The online tool also permits multi-string design of different substrings with an MPP tracker. Registered SMA Sunny Portal users also profit from personalised access and online project management.
