SMA Solar Technology AG Press Release The Three-phase Inverter for Residential and Small Commercial Systems Sydney, April 3, 2013 – SMA Australia introduces new power classes to the Sunny Tripower range. Packed with great features, the new Sunny Tripower 5000TL – 9000TL is designed for residential and small commercial systems, boasting a high level of flexibility, outstanding efficiency and the first-class communication technology, Webconnect. Multistring Concept for a High Level of Flexibility Just like the 10 to 17 kW Sunny Tripower, this Sunny Tripower also has two independent MPP trackers for Optiflex, the asymmetrical Multistring concept. “Installers benefit from a high degree of module compatibility and seamless construction that suits the required number of modules with just one inverter,” explains product manager Wilfried Vogt. Excellent Peak Efficiency and Shade Management The Sunny Tripower for private homes and small commercial systems has all the same features as the larger Sunny Tripower. “Its technical specifications make it the standard for mid to large scale residential PV systems,” emphasises Vogt. The device has an excellent peak efficiency of over 98 percent and highly efficient shade management thanks to OptiTrac Global Peak. First-Class Communication Technology As well as improving on Bluetooth® communication with an external Bluetooth®-antenna, this new Sunny Tripower model comes with integrated SMA Webconnect as standard. This new direct data exchange interface facilitates quick communication with Sunny Portal, which allows the user to track the key performance data and control up to four inverters. It’s easy to setup, the LAN cable only needs to be plugged into an external socket and connected to the router. Then register the plant in Sunny Portal and the Plug & Play installation is complete. Any possible abnormalities or interferences in operation will be quickly detected, and a notification will be sent by e-mail through the Sunny Portal, ensuring that the Sunny Tripower secures optimal plant availability. Innovative German Engineering Featuring cutting-edge technology and top yields, this inverter is setting new standards in its power class. SMA has been delivering PV inverters around the world for over 30 years and German engineering makes SMA technology the highest quality. The Sunny Tripower 5000TL – 9000TL is AS/NZS 5033 compliant.
