Located in Bad Hersfeld in central Germany, the first large-scale plant with three-phase Sunny Tripower 17000 TL inverters from SMA has been connected to the grid. Since June 2010, a total of 30 inverters have been converting the direct current generated in the 7,930 modules from First Solar into grid-conforming alternating current. The roof-mounted plant has a total nominal power of around 600 kWp.
With the experience gained from a total of 17 large-scale power plant projects, PVStrom GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kirchheim in Baden-Württemberg, is responsible for the planning of the decentralized PV farm.
»A total of four module inverter versions were checked and tested with regard to specific costs and annual rates of return in the run-up to project planning.
