SMA is continuing to expand its presence in the strategically important Australian market with the appointment of a new Managing Director APAC, Doris Spielthenner and a new Director Home, Commercial and Industrial, Patrick Duignan.

Spielthenner and Duignan join Joshua Birmingham, Director Large Scale & Project Solutions - Australia and Shannon Fuller, Director Finance - APAC, to complete the Australian Management team. Together the team will strenghten the present path and continue the SMA success story in Australia.

Doris Spielthenner brings to SMA Australia more than 15 years executive management experience with a distinguished track record of innovation, digital transformation, and a deep knowledge of business development and strategy. Spielthenner’s empathetic leadership style, professional background and extensive international experience will support SMA Australia realize the company’s long term strategic goals.

Patrick Duignan has over 10 years of experience in the Solar and renewable energy industry and has been in senior roles for module, inverter and battery storage companies. Patrick has a strong focus on developing authentic relationships with key partners in the solar market with the goal to have mutually beneficial outcomes. He comes with a wealth of experience in developing and executing successful growth strategies in a very competitive market. “I am excited to re-join SMA Australia with its strong reputation for technology innovation, great customers and solid partnerships,” said Duignan.
